Help us support the Samaritans again
20 October 2016
Last year with your help we raised over £600.00 for the Samaritans Christmas Child Gift Boxes, this year we are doing the same again!
And are aiming to raise even more to fill these fabulous boxes with gifts for children who otherwise may receive no presents to open this Christmas.
If you are anything like us here at Monarch & LapCabby we spoil our loved ones at Christmas, to show them how much they are loved, appreciated and to put a big smile on their faces come Christmas morning. Because we are lucky enough to be so fortunate in our lives, it breaks our hearts to think there are children out there who celebrate Christmas but may not receive a thing from Santa come December the 25th… So we thought we would do something about it and we have pulled together as a team to fill these shoeboxes with goodies, to bring a little fun and happiness to 100 children’s faces this Christmas.
The aim is to fill the 100 currently empty boxes we have with a selection of the following items:
• TOYS – New items that children will immediately embrace such as dolls and stuffed toys (with CE label), toy trucks, yo-yo, skipping rope, ball and small puzzles
• SCHOOL SUPPLIES – Pens, pencils, sharpeners, crayons, felt pens, stamps, ink pad sets, writing pads, notebooks, paper, solar calculators, and colouring books
• HYGIENE ITEMS – Toothbrushes, toothpaste, bars of wrapped soap, combs, hairbrushes and hair bobbles
• OTHER ITEMS – Hats, caps, gloves, scarfs, sunglasses, hair accessories, jewellery sets, wind up torches and wrapped sweets
(best-before-date must be at least March 2016)
(All items must be new and would need be sent to our office address by the 4th November 2016)
Anything that you could donate for us to put in the boxes would be a great help, or alternatively we have set up a Just Giving page on which you can donate and we will buy gifts on your behalf.
You can find full details on what items are acceptable here and please don’t forget they need to be small enough to fit into a little shoe box!
We received some lovely messages last year from children who received the boxes we had filled.
Here is also a link to short video showing the impact the gift of a shoebox has on children in need.
We really hope you feel that this is a worthwhile cause and feel able to donate something however small and we will create some extra smiling happy faces this Christmas!
The boxes are being collected from us mid November so we need to have received all donations by the 4th of November so we can buy items plus fill and package the boxes in time please!
